Let Them Eat Cake

Why have one wedding cake, when you can have several.  By having several smaller cakes, they can be made less dense and a lot more tasty!  Colour coordinate them to your wedding colours, and they definately do not all have to be the same.  Throw in a cheesecake or cookies, and not only will it be cute, but it will surely please all your guests.  Enjoy!

Sweet as a Cherry

I berry like the idea of this theme for a wedding (yes...I said I berry like it!!)  A cherry themed wedding is cute, and the inspiration came from the cherry favours.  Simply find a cute bag or box, and fill them with cherries.  Enjoy!!!

A Signature Purple

Purple is definately the hot colour for 2011!  There is nothing like having a signature drink in a colour that matches your decor.  Looks amazing...tastes amazing....and everyone will love it.

Here is a recipe for a Purple Haze Martini which your guests will love.  Don't feel that you need to keep that name either...get crazy and make up your own cocktail name like Hypnotized by Love (the drink has hypnotiq in it), or name it after you and your groom....get creative

  • 1 oz. freshly squeezed pomegranate juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. Hpnotiq®
  • 1 1/2 oz. pineapple juice
  • orange rind or sour grapes for garnish

How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker over ice.
  • Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.
  • Garnish with orange rind or sour grape.

A Wine Glass Bouquet

I found this great little inspiration from Preston Bailey's blog, and thought it was a great idea.  Instead of using the typical glass vases for floral centerpieces, why not make lower arrangements and use a wine glass.  It is simple and unique.  It would also look great in a martini glass, or go bold, and use a champagne flute. Love the idea....can't wait to try it.

Wedd-iquette

Question: Is it appropriate to invite friends from far away even though you know they will not be able to make it?

Answer:  This is a tough question as it can go both ways. Some feel that if you invite friends from far away that you are only looking for a gift if you know that they can not attend.  On the other side of the coin, they may feel insulted for not getting an invitation.  The best recommendation is to be sure to invite all your close friends (whether they can make it or not).

Beautiful Bouquet

There is nothing like a unique bouquet with a beautiful colour palette. In my many searches, I stumbled across this purple bouquet which is Vera Wang inspired.  The mix of dark and light purple is so elegant with the blue contrast.  This bouquet is very a theatrical, and would compliment a brides personality.
