A Feathered Dream

Feathers are fun, dreamy, and a great theme to a wedding or event.  Feathers are a great accent to a bouquet, and adds the whimsy which some brides are looking for. Feathers can be added in the slightest detail.  Another upcoming trend is the feather ball, which can be hung from the ceiling in between swag.  Here are a few photos of some feathery inspirations!!!

Wear It Again Dress

The bridesmaid dress.....an almost haunting word to a bridesmaid or maid of honour. There is a fear that comes over oneself when asked to be a bridesmaid or M.O.H. and that is what kind of tacky dress will my so called friend put me in.

Well brides... do your friends a favour, and check out this link for a fabulous dress that your girls can wear again.  It comes in so many colours and a few different styles.

A Masquerade

I am pretty sure that deep down in all of us, we love masks and masquerades.  So many beautiful designs and colours mixed in with jewels and feathers.  Indulge in this little desire by wearing a mask for your wedding day, or have a mask for each guest during your ceremony which they can wear.   It is a great favor for your guest, and to have the bride and groom walk down the aisle with all the masked faces behind them will look amazing.

These are the neat little touches to a wedding or an event.  This is also a great idea for the halloween bride, and is not too cliche for October 31st.

So go ahead...let out your inner Phantom of the Opera ;)

Crane Chandelier

Love this idea!!! When you send out your invitations to a party or to a wedding, include a pattern to make oragami cranes for your guest to make and send back to you.  If you have a large guest list, you can end up with over a hundred cranes in different papers, and each one with its own story. At your reception, pull them together to create a beautiful chandelier, or string them up and hang from a tree for a wonderful centerpiece. This is a great way to add a personalized touch to your event.

10 Things Men Should Know About Marriage

I came across this cute article on msn advising men on what they need to know about marriage.  My favourite part is how the writer referred bridal magizines beside a woman's bed as "wedding porn".... it made me laugh. Enjoy!

Navy and Pink Collide

I am always looking for new colour inspirations, and this colour combo exudes class and sophistication.  It is so cliche but Navy is the new black.  Mixed with a soft pink, the colour palette is a must for a spring wedding.

A Boo-tiful Party

With October 31st around the corner, it is time to start planning your halloween party.  It does not have to be all ghouls, goblins, and scary bits. Halloween, which is my most favourite time of year by the way, can be classy and spooktacular all at the same time.

Keep your colour schemes simple by using black, white, and an accent colour (which can be either red, purple, or orange).  If you are in a time crunch, simply pull together household items in this colour scheme, and add a few white pumpkins, and you have an instant festive table.  Be creative in how you display your pumpkins.  Fill up a large glass bowl with them, or place them on top of a wine glass or a martini glass.

The dollarstore is another great place to find inexpensive decorations for your Halloween table. Just be careful not to get the tacky items, but look for things that are authentically spooky, and won't look too tacky on your table.

Choose foods for your dinner that relate to your colour scheme. It does not have to be witches fingers and eyeball soup.  Look for vegtables that compliment your colours, for example, use sweet potatoe to bring out the orange, or a stir fry with orange or red peppers. Top it off with a chocolate fudge desert, and a cocktail in a festive colour. All quick and easy ways to bring your dinner party together.

Happy All Hallows Eve planning!!

Say Yes to Randy Fenoli :)

Two weddings and a bridal show make for a busy weekend.  Friday night was the Bridal Show, and we had sooooo much fun, and met some wonderful brides.  Of course the highlight of the show was Randy Fenoli from Say Yes to the Dress!!!  It started when I was decorating the stage for the Maggie Sottero fashion show, and Randy walked in to prep for his show.  I was so star struck that I blushed uncontrollably, and couldn't even say hi!!!  We did get to meet him afterwards and got a wonderful photo, and his autograph.

Check out our facebook page for all the photos from the show.......
