Still on the heels of the royal wedding, I have come to realize that there is a lot of thoughtfulness that went into their nuptials. As time goes on, more and more details from the wedding are made clear and I have an appreciation for it. When I first saw Kate's bouquet I was disappointed, but I have discovered the meaning behind every flower. Here is the meaning of each flower in this thoughtful bouquet:
"The bride's bouquet is the traditional all-white arrangement of flowers carried at royal weddings. I recognized the dainty and elegant bell-shaped flowers, lily of the valley, which symbolize the return of happiness in Kate's wedding bouquet. The perfect accompaniment to the tiny white flowers is the Sweet William which stands for gallantry. The flower is most certainly a romantic tribute to the groom who is a gallant young man. White hyacinth which stands for constancy of love, and myrtle the symbol of love and marriage fill out the shield-shaped bouquet with its ribbon-wrapped handle. Touches of ivy are a subtle background representing friendship, affection, fidelity, wedded love and marriage. The symbolism is deep and meaningful. This bride, this elegant princess, has chosen flowers to honor the love she has for her prince. She has also respectfully chosen to honor the Queen and Great Britain with her use of meaningful native flowers and greenery."
