Something that not a lot of brides or hostesses think about is the napkin ring. I think the napkin gets neglected, yet a simple craft can enhance the look of your table. Most restaurants will fan the napkin in the glass, which actually is very unsanitary. Think of all the dust that is on that napkin that has been sitting on the shelf, and is now in your water glass. And let me tell you... I found out some information about dust particles which grossed me out, so lets avoid the glass.
Napkin rings can be anything from eleborate designs, to something as simple as ribbon. Beaded wire.... a leaf... an old broach, twine... anything goes. It does take a bit of work to prep the napkins, but enlist in friends or your wedding coordinator, or see if your venue will do it for you.
